After extraction and refining, natural gas travels through pipelines at a pressure equivalent to 1000 psi to reach various points in the country and consumption destinations. However, it is evident that this pressure is not suitable for use in industries, facilities, and equipment. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the pressure to the required level in order to make it usable. This pressure reduction operation takes place at stations known as “CGS (City Gas Station)”.
In CGS (City Gas Station), it is possible for hydrate formation and ice formation to occur in the pipes due to an inappropriate ratio between station pressure and gas inlet temperature. This occurs when the outlet flow conditions become favorable for such formations after passing through the station and experiencing pressure reduction. To prevent this phenomenon, a heater is installed between the filter and the shut-off valve. Its purpose is to increase the natural gas temperature, ensuring that during pressure drop, the gas temperature does not fall below the dew point .Due to the improper design of these heaters, their efficiency is usually much lower than the desired design value. For this reason, a considerable amount of thermal energy from the fuel is wasted through the exhaust gases from the chimney.
The Behineh Sazan Sanat Tasisat Company started its activities as one of the pioneers in the field of optimization and fuel consumption reduction of heating systems since 1388(2009). Currently, it is recognized as a consultant to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) in the field of optimizing fuel consumption of CGS (City Gas Station) heaters in the country.
